Using AI-assisted label extraction and recall checks, we've made it possible to scan any product label and quickly receive information about ingredients, safety recalls, allergens, and more.

How We Work

Depending on scan mode, Product Scans can use GPT-4o, Claude, and Gemini to read product labels and then separates label extraction from retrieval-backed factual checks. Here's our process:

• AI Extraction: Fast scans can use GPT-4o alone, while deeper scans can also use Claude and Gemini
• Cross-Check: When multiple models run, label extraction is cross-checked before we show it
• Safety Checks: We automatically check FDA and CPSC databases for recalls
• Evidence Gates: Brand, wine, testing, and other supported factual claims are shown only when cited sources meet confidence thresholds

Our Commitment to Conservative Claims

Unlike tools that rely only on stale product databases, Product Scans reads directly from your product's actual label and keeps factual-claim wording conservative. We do not promise perfect results. This means:

• The visible label stays the primary source for ingredients and nutrition details
• Supported factual claims stay hidden until cited sources qualify
• Real-time FDA and CPSC recall checking
• Model usage varies by scan mode instead of assuming every scan always uses every model

Privacy & Security

We take your privacy seriously:

• Label images are processed for the scan you request, and derived scan summaries may be saved to history
• We don't sell your data to third parties
• SSL encryption protects all data transmission
• Web free-trial sessions are backend-owned, and mobile store builds use sign-in or sign-up before scanning
